It is a bit sad how one-sided Odin is portrayed in the material available to young men internationally. As if Odins original nature is that of the leader of the cursed wolfs. Spurred on by the mad dreams spun by nationalistic Scandinavian descendants in Hollywood, the image of a man as a blood thirsty killer is served to unassuming young men feeling betrayed by the world. This creates a seductive but twisted path for those using him as a role model in their spiritual work. This "phase" of the natural force described under the term Odin is not the end goal for a Trollkunnig.
In this medieval folk ballad, the Trollpacka (or Völva) shows that the wolf/fox nature is caused by a curse and the true nature is hinted.
